Retro iPhone

OK, I was bored. Saw this hack someplace on the web and just thought the iPhone was too modern and needed to be brought back to earth. The old payphone dialer:

I had a mobile phone since 1994 (when it is still rather uncommon)after 12 years using a mobile,I gave up mine more than two years ago. It was a deliberate attempt to test myself whether I will 'survive'. Of course I could still survive as I determine not to use it. You could say turning the phone off was an option but people do not see it as most expect you to answer if you have a mobile. But this is not the main point, I felt 'free' of the need to be contact or perhaps the need of contacting people all the time when I had my mobile. Now I value more when I meet people face to face or when I need to chat I could do that at home. I don't feel panic if my atteries are down for I have none. I even write letters to people even though I seldom get written reply but that is quite alright I think as long as I am happy about it which I am. Of course the lack of mobile also mean the lack of convenience. I live in central London phone box are every where but the state they are in, is usually appalling. I made numerous complains to BT about it but the result is predictable as you could expect. Still there is something idiosyncratic about the pay phone, well I am not going to talk about it here. I sometime see mobile as the equivalent to the need of a microwave oven which by now you could tell I do not have one. But the need of convenience is over-play as seems we don't have any more patient wanting every thing to happen at once and at that moment...

Well, I think we all need to get back on earth at least for some time, till we are sure we are sane without the latest mobile in hand.
